I've been a technology & science geek since I saw the Apollo Moon landing in 3rd grade Summer school. Radar tech at 17 years old, 21 tears in Telecommunications, building web sites in Blogger & Wordpress, PC repair, and lately, studying and teaching Information Technology. I'm a one-tour Air Force veteran and a member of Civil Air Patrol. I have written poetry for nearly two decades, and I draw and paint a bit. Married for 19 years (so far) with one son and one stepson. I'm also a bookworm from way, way back, and love hard science fiction, space operas, and fantasy.

Thoughts...

I'd like to write a little about the history of PLP, but this laptop has a bad habit of wiping out my posts after I've half written them, so it'll have to wait until I'm at the desktop.

I'm the lone poet here tonight for PLP's October reading, so I thought I'd put energy into this event in another way, by bringing it it's very own blog.

This is going to be the more personal side of Plainfield Live Poetry. Sure, I'll post reading dates, group updates, events in the area. But this is where I'm also going to speak from the heart about PLP, to give it the more human history and it's own little diary.

Long overdue, I think.

Plainfield Live Poetry Moving To 3rd Wednesday of the Month...

Alright, poets, the vote of the foot has been heard. We are moving the
PLP readings at Green Leaf Coffee House to the 3rd Wednesday of the
month. This should make things easier for us in a few ways:

Reduces competition with the existing open mike night and music night
at the venue.

Makes it less likely we will have other groups holding meetings in our
venue on our night.

Allows for activities some of our regulars have in conflict with
Tuesday nights.

Third Wednesday readings will begin in November - I'll be putting out
press releases to the Enterprise and the Sun soon for this.

The time will be the same, 7-9pm.

I'm looking forward to seeing all of you here, as I'm writing this at
the Green Leaf at the moment.

All the best,

Dan Stafford
